Intercollegiate Ceramics 2026

Oglebay Institute's Stifel Fine Arts Center, in partnership with historic Bethany College, will host a national exhibition of collegiate ceramic art in February and March 2026. This exhibit will celebrate and honor the college ceramic artist and run in conjunction with Earth & Fire 2026. The juror will be Earth & Fire 2025 best in show artist Ruth Douzinas. Intercollegiate Ceramics 2026 is the kick-off event for Ceramics Take Over Wheeling, a citywide event celebrating ceramic artists and enthusiasts alike. Galleries and venues across the "Friendly City" are excited to showcase the very best in contemporary and traditional ceramic art during this newly organized 4-day ceramics festival.

The awards include 1st prize: $2000.00, solo exhibition, and paid registration to NCECA 2027; 2nd prize: $500.00; 3rd prize: $350.00; and 2 merit awards: $75.00 each. Entry fee is $20.00 for up to 3 pieces. Exhibition dates are February 26 - April 11, 2026, with an opening reception on February 26, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm. Artists may submit up to 3 works, and all works must be made of clay and be the original work of the artist.

Open to visual artists residing in the United States and currently enrolled in a degree seeking institution. Works must have been completed within the last two calendar years and not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center or Bethany College. All works must be for sale, with Bethany College retaining a 30% commission on the sale price. Hand delivered drop off accepted works dates are January 26 - February 7, 2026 by appointment, and shipped works are accepted January 1 – February 7, 2026.
