About This Call
Stifel Fine Arts Center of Oglebay Institute, in partnership with historic Bethany College, is hosting a national collegiate exhibition of ceramic art in February and March 2025. This exhibit celebrates college ceramic artists and is the kick-off event for Ceramics Take Over Wheeling, a citywide celebration of ceramic artists and enthusiasts. The juror is George Rodriguez, Earth & Fire 2024 best in show artist.
Eligibility: Open to visual artists residing in the United States and currently enrolled in a degree-seeking institution. All works must be made of clay, be original work of the artist, and have been completed within the last two calendar years. Works must not have been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. Entry fee is $20.00 (nonrefundable). All works must be for sale; Bethany College will retain a 30% commission on the sale price, and WV state sales tax will be applied.
Awards: 1st prize $2,000 plus paid registration to NCECA 2026; 2nd prize $500; 3rd prize $350; 2 merit awards $75 each. Exhibition dates: February 20 - March 29, 2025. Opening reception: February 20, 2025 (6:00-8:00pm). Deadline for entries: December 8, 2024 (11:59 p.m. Mountain Time). Juror notification will be emailed the week of December 16, 2024. Hand-delivered drop-off accepted January 25 - February 4, 2025. Shipped works accepted January 6-31, 2025 (shipping at artist's expense; return shipping label must be included). Pick-up dates for unsold work: April 4-12, 2025. Works left unclaimed more than 30 days past pick-up dates become the property of Stifel Fine Arts Center.
