Installation Nation 2018

Installation Nation is a 3-week exhibition presented by Primary Colours featuring site-specific art installations on the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Center's 9.5-acre ArtsPark. Artists and Artist Teams are invited to submit proposals at no cost. Primary Colours will select up to fifteen projects and award each a $1,000 stipend to create their work.

Installation Nation is open to individual artists or artist teams over age 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Selected artists must be available to install their work during October 7–11, 2018. Submissions are free and must be made through CaFE - CallForEntry.Org by Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Each submission must include a current CV or resume (not exceeding 3 pages), a brief project description, and up to six images for jurying (up to 3 images of past work and up to 3 images of the proposed project). Proposals will be judged on originality, feasibility, execution, and innovation. All submitting artists will be notified of their status on Friday, July 20, 2018 via email.

Selected artists are responsible for all costs associated with fabrication, production, and transportation of their work. The $1,000 stipend will be split into two payments: $500 upon selection and $500 upon completion of the exhibit following successful de-installation. All artwork must be installed between October 7–11, 2018 by 6 p.m. and must remain on display through November 3, 2018. Artists may not make permanent damage to the ArtsPark grounds or existing structures; damage will be invoiced at replacement cost. After selection, alterations or substitutions cannot be made without authorization from Primary Colours.
