Installation Nation 2017

Installation Nation 2017 is open to individual artists or artist teams over the age of 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Selected artists must be available to install their work during the installation period of June 12–15, 2017. Up to 15 projects will be selected from proposals received. Proposals will be judged based on originality, feasibility, execution, and innovation.

Entry is free and submissions are made exclusively through CaFE - CallForEntry.Org. Each artist must submit a current CV or resume (not to exceed 3 pages), a brief description of the proposed project, and up to six images for jurying (up to 3 images of past work and up to 3 images of the proposed project). Images of proposed projects may be sketches, studies, renderings, photographs of assembled elements, or complete projects if previously realized. All submissions are due by Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Artists will be notified of their status on Friday, March 10, 2017 via email.

Selected artists receive a $1,000 stipend toward project completion, split into two payments: $500 upon selection and $500 upon successful de-install. Artists are responsible for all costs associated with fabrication, production, and transportation of their work. Primary Colours cannot provide electronics, technology, or other materials for installation. All artwork must be installed between June 12–15, 2017 by 6 p.m. Installation is primarily artist-driven, though staff and volunteer support will be available for troubleshooting. Artists may not make permanent damage to the Indianapolis Art Center's ArtsPark Grounds or existing structures; damage invoices will be issued for replacement costs. All accepted work must remain on display through July 8, 2017. After selection, alterations or substitutions cannot be made without authorization. Primary Colours reserves the right to remove works based on special installation circumstances or discrepancies between juried images and actual work.
