About This Call
Inspiration Way: Tamarac Sculptures on Nob Hill is a public art exhibition for the City of Tamarac. The exhibition will be located in the corridor of Nob Hill Road between Commercial Boulevard and McNab. This opportunity is open to all artists nationwide creating original three-dimensional artwork of a scale and material suitable for outdoor display. Florida artists are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in outdoor installation of public work is preferred but not necessary.
Selected artists will receive a stipend of $2,500 per selected artwork, paid in two installments ($1,250 after installation and $1,250 after removal). A $1,000 cash award will be given for Best of Show. The City has a possible purchase budget of up to $60,000 and may purchase one or more works for its public art collections. Artwork must be durable and suitable for South Florida's subtropical climate with intense sun, heat, humidity, and seasonal heavy rain. Sculptures should be designed to be securely anchored to a concrete pad. The City will insure each work against damage or theft for the duration of the exhibition and will produce publicity materials.
Artists are responsible for installation and de-installation coordination with the City's Public Art Administrators, securing all required City, County, and State permits (permit fees will be reimbursed except for the City's Public Art Fund Fee of 1% of construction cost), and providing General Liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured, proof of Automobile insurance, and Workers' Compensation insurance or exemption during installation and de-installation. A 25% commission on works sold during the exhibition will remain with the City. Applications are due November 21, 2023. Final artist selection is scheduled for November 28, 2023, with artwork installation in January 2024. Submit applications via CAFÉ software at www.callforentry.org. For questions, contact [email protected] or gadsonravitzgmail.com.
