Tattoos in the US have seen a cultural shift over the past generations; from the Baby Boomer to Gen Z. This exhibition looks at the shift and welcomes the gradual social embrace of the tattoo industry and how it is beginning to become a form of not only body art, but that of contemporary fine art. This call is aiming to center the tattoo as artwork as well as the tattooist and what they may create outside of their studio practice. Whether that be flash sheets, photography of their tattoos or additional work, digital art, 2D and 3D work. The exhibition celebrates tattoo artists as multimedia fine artists.

Artwork and media to be submitted can include images, video, and audio (up to 4 total pieces). Artists who have live models that may be a representation of their work are welcome to participate in the opening reception on July 11th from 6-9pm. Guest juror Chelsea Coronado (Chelsmosis) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Northern Colorado with a BFA in Painting from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, working across tattooing, fine art, and music.

Eligibility: All artists 18 years and older who are current residents of Colorado may apply. Artwork must be original work created within the past 5 years (2020-2025) and not previously shown at ACCA. Reproductions and AI-generated work are not eligible; Giclée prints of photographs or digital media are eligible. Framed and 2D work must be ready to hang and not exceed 3 feet in width or weigh more than 70 lbs. Sculpture should not exceed 3 feet in any direction. Entry fee is $20 for up to 4 pieces. Artist statement should be no longer than 200 words. Images must be JPG files only and cropped to exclude framing and background. Exhibition dates: July 11th - August 30th, 2025. Artists will be notified the week of June 16th, 2025. ACCA takes a 40% commission on anything sold during the exhibition. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the exhibition. Shipped work should arrive no later than July 3rd, 2025. Hand delivery is available June 30th (10am-6pm), July 1st (10am-1pm), and July 2nd (10am-2pm). ACCA provides insurance for artworks while on premises but is not responsible for damage or loss during transport.
