Indoor DownEast Sculpture Exhibition

The DownEast National Juried Sculpture Exhibition is located in Pitt County, North Carolina. The exhibition has two components: a month-long indoor exhibition and a year-long outdoor exhibition.

This exhibition is open to all artists ages 18 and up. Any three-dimensional media is eligible. Indoor submissions must fit through a standard sized door and be ready for display. Each artist must submit a minimum of 3 entries. The fee for 3 entries is $20, with additional entries costing $5 per entry up to a maximum of 6 total entries. All entries must be submitted digitally as JPGs by Saturday, January 21, 2023. If work is not for sale, an insurance value must be given and NFS stated or work will not be insured. Emerge Gallery will retain a 30% commission.

Accepted indoor work must be hand delivered or received by Thursday, February 23, 2023, between 10:00am–9:00pm to Emerge Gallery, located at 404 Evans Street, Greenville, NC 27858. Shipped work must be received by Wednesday, February 22, 2023 and include a prepaid mailing label for return. The indoor exhibition runs March 3–30, 2023. Accepted work must be picked up on Friday, March 31 or Saturday, April 1 during open hours. Work left after the exhibition will become the property of Emerge Gallery. Shipped work will be returned starting March 31, 2023. Emerge Gallery will provide insurance for accepted indoor work from drop-off through March 30, 2023, covering 70 percent of the sales price with a maximum of $5,000. Indoor sculpture prizes are: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100. The juror is D. Lance Vickery, who holds an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Kentucky and currently teaches Sculpture and the Figure at the University of North Florida.
