About This Call

Installation Nation is open to all individual artists or artist teams over the age of 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Selected artists must be available to install their work during the installation period of April 21–24, 2014. Entry is free and submissions are made exclusively through CaFE - CallForEntry.Org. Each artist must submit a current CV or resume (not to exceed 3 pages), a brief description of the proposed project, and up to six images for jurying (up to 3 images of past work and up to 3 images of the proposed project). Images of the proposed project may be sketches, studies, renderings, photographs of assembled elements, or complete projects if previously realized.

After the application deadline, a panel of Installation Nation committee members and local arts professionals will select 10 projects from the pool of proposals received. Proposals will be judged based on originality, feasibility, execution, and innovation. All submitting artists will be notified of their status on Friday, November 8, 2013 via email. Selected proposals will receive a $1,000 stipend toward project completion, split into two payments: $500 upon selection and $500 upon completion of the exhibit and successful de-install.

All artwork must be installed between Monday, April 21, 2014 and Thursday, April 24, 2014 by 6 p.m. Installation is primarily artist-driven, though the Indianapolis Art Center and Primary Colours will provide some staff and volunteer support. Artists are responsible for all costs associated with fabrication, production, and transportation of their work. Artists may make no permanent damage to the Indianapolis Art Center's ArtsPark Grounds or existing structures; any damage incurred will result in an invoice for replacement costs. All accepted work must remain on display through the end of the exhibition on May 2, 2014.
