About This Call
This call is open to all artists and artist teams over the age of 18 residing in the United States. While artists of all career levels and locations are eligible, emerging artists and those living in the Midwest are especially encouraged to apply. All work must be original and made by the artist or artist team. Collaborative works made between artists are eligible for inclusion.
The selected artist will have a budget of $4,000 to create the work, which comprises the honorarium and production budget. The Art Center will provide organizational support to facilitate the logistics of working on the construction of the piece and to market the event. Installation will take place in late spring/early summer 2014, with the public unveiling and artist reception scheduled for June 13, 2014. The artist will work with the Art Center's Exhibitions department to schedule the installation.
Submissions must include 5-10 images of work (realized projects of similar scope, renderings of proposed projects, and/or images of existing works), a resume/curriculum vitae not to exceed 3 pages, an image description sheet including medium, dimensions, and year, a project description not to exceed one page, a proposed project budget, and a proposed project timeline. Proposals will be evaluated by the Indianapolis Art Center's Exhibitions Department based on aesthetic merit, originality and innovation, overall feasibility of project, and experience with projects of similar scale and scope.
