About This Call
The Indianapolis Art Center is seeking proposals for a one-week artist residency to create a new site-specific installation or sculpture within the 9.5-acre ArtsPark. The selected artist will work directly with the public during the residency, which will take place between September 1 and November 30, 2012.
The resident will receive a total budget of $20,000, which includes honorarium and production budget, plus organizational support from the Art Center to facilitate logistics and marketing. Installation and sculptures that last 3-5 years or longer are preferred. Materials should focus on organic, recycled, upcycled, reused, sustainable, and/or otherwise "green" resources.
Initial submissions must include 5-10 images of work (realized projects, renderings, or existing works) and a description of the project. Finalists will be required to submit a resume/curriculum vitae, 15-20 sample images on CD or DVD in jpeg format, an image description sheet, a one-page project description, proposed budget, and proposed timeline. The selection panel will evaluate proposals based on aesthetic merit, appropriateness to project goals, feasibility, experience with similar-scale projects, and experience working with community groups. Entry fee: $25.
