About This Call
This exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 residing in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Art Center. All work must be original and made by the artist or artist team. Collaborative works are eligible.
Entry fee is $25 for the submission of up to two pieces of work. All media are eligible, though installation artists should contact the Art Center before applying. 2D artwork must not weigh more than 250 pounds or exceed 10' x 10'. Video artists should submit still images and mail a DVD copy, which must be received by the March 1, 2014 deadline. The juror is Sarah Green, Creator, Curator, and Host for "The Art Assignment" and former Curator of Contemporary Art for the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
Awards chosen by the juror include: Best in Show ($1,000), Best in 2D including video ($500), Best in 3D including installation ($500), and 5 Honorable Mentions ($100 each). The Indianapolis Art Center's Director of Exhibitions will also award a Director's Choice Award for a solo exhibition at the Art Center. Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on April 11, 2014. All accepted work must remain on display until June 8, 2014. Artwork must arrive by April 7, 2014 by 6 p.m. The Art Center retains a 35% commission on all sales. The Art Center will insure the exhibition while on view; artists are responsible for providing an itemized insurance list and for shipping costs and insurance during transit.
