About This Call

The Community Affairs Department of the Indianapolis Airport Authority seeks an Arts Programming Intern for summer 2026 and the fall and/or spring semesters of the upcoming academic year. The internship may extend for up to a full year. The position pays $21.41 per hour and work will take place at Indianapolis International Airport.

The Arts Programming Intern will support the Public Affairs team in delivering engaging arts and culture experiences across the IAA campus. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and execution of arts and culture programming at IND, including public art tours and pop-up performances; supporting storytelling efforts that highlight public art and artist contributions; helping identify and connect with local artists, musicians, and cultural partners; providing general administrative support for arts-related projects and events; working closely with the Arts Program Specialist on defined projects; collaborating with the Public Affairs team on creative economy storytelling and community engagement; participating in meetings with the Indy Arts Council and other cultural organizations; assisting with documentation, scheduling, and logistics for arts programming, including installation and removal and conservation of existing artwork; supporting the coordination of artist visits, permits, and event materials; and attending occasional events or tours, including some outside standard office hours.

Minimum requirements include current enrollment in Arts Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; interest in public art, community engagement, and cultural programming; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently; proficiency in Microsoft Office with familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred; ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work occasional flexible hours, including evenings or weekends; and a valid driver's license.
