In the City

In the City is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme invites artists to interpret the hustle and bustle of the city—any city, real or imaginary, representational or abstract. The exhibition will run from May 24th through June 20th, with an online opening reception on Thursday, May 29th at 6pm on Zoom. The juror is Bill Lane (www.billlanewatercolors.com). Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Entry fee is $15 per entry for non-members and $10 per entry for members. Artists may submit 1-3 images. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and other 2D media on any 2D surface. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and must not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another artist or from a tutorial. Work may be listed as not for sale (NFS) by contacting the gallery at [email protected]. Notification of acceptance will be sent on May 23rd. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society will receive 35% of the sale. Shipping is not required as pieces will be displayed in digital format only.
