In The Abstract

SFVACC invites artists to enter a juried virtual exhibition titled In The Abstract, featuring abstract art that uses shapes, forms, color, line and texture as opposed to representing an accurate depiction of visual reality. SFVACC seeks artists who can provide a well-rounded range of 2D and 3D abstract art. All submitted art will be juried using digital images. The exhibition is open to all artists residing in North America.

Artists may submit up to six original artworks per entry as high-resolution JPEGs in all media except video. The entry fee is $40 for one entry, with additional entries at $5 each. Entry deadline is Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Acceptance notifications will be sent by Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and the exhibit will be open from Monday, November 3, 2025 through Wednesday, December 31, 2025 on the SFVACC website, where it will remain archived indefinitely.

Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), and up to four Honorable Mentions. The juror is Linda de Martinez, Director of Gallery 612 in Santa Monica, CA. Entries must be original works of the artist's own execution and may not have been shown at any previous SFVACC exhibit. All juried artwork must remain online until the end of the exhibit. Sales are handled directly between artist and buyer with no commission to SFVACC.
