About This Call
In the Abstract is a juried exhibition at Site:Brooklyn Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, running June 12–July 11, 2020. The exhibition seeks work across all media exploring abstraction. Juror Gail Levin is an art historian and curator specializing in Abstract Expressionism and American modernist art, with curatorial experience at the Whitney Museum and authorship of biographies on Edward Hopper, Judy Chicago, and Lee Krasner.
This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in any media. Only original work may be submitted. Entry fee is $37.00 for up to three images, with an additional $10.00 per image (maximum 12 images total, or up to 15 total samples including video). Work samples may include 0–3 videos. The final submission deadline is May 4, 2020 at 11:59 PM MT. Notification of acceptance will be sent May 12, 2020. The opening reception is Friday, June 12, 2020 from 6–9 PM.
Accepted artwork must be suitably framed to professional standards and ready for hanging (maximum size 72" × 60" × 24" D). Wall-mounted sculpture, canvas, and wood panels do not require frames. All artwork must be priced for sale, and Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. All entry fees are non-refundable.
