About This Call
In Pursuit II is an annual juried exhibition featuring work from Virginia art students currently enrolled in their college or university's art program. The exhibition is open to functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums. Work must have been produced within the last two years and cannot exceed 48 inches in its longest dimension or weigh more than 40 pounds. All styles and aesthetics are considered, and content should be appropriate for all viewers.
The exhibition will be held at the d'Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia from Wednesday, February 5th through Saturday, February 29th, 2020, with a reception on Thursday, February 13th from 5:30-7:30pm. The exhibition will be juried by art professionals at d'Art Center and curated by gallery manager and curator Amanda Bradley. Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for a $15.00 entry fee. Awards include 1st Place ($300), 2nd Place ($200), and 3rd Place ($100). Accepted works must arrive by Thursday, January 30th, 2020. Artists will be notified by email by 5pm on Monday, January 20th, 2020.
All 2D works must be equipped with hanging hardware. All 3D works requiring presentation other than standard pedestals must include those displays. Works requiring special installation must include clear instructions, and complicated installations must be installed by the artist. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Works should be shipped in reusable containers without packing peanuts. The d'Art Center is not responsible for damage during exhibition. Works not picked up within one month of the exhibition's end become property of the d'Art Center. Commission for sold works is 70% artist/30% d'Art Center, not including awards.
