About This Call
In Pursuit is a juried exhibition featuring work from Virginia art students currently enrolled in their college or university's art program. The exhibition is open to functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums. All styles and aesthetics are considered. Work must have been produced within the last two years and cannot exceed 48 inches in its longest dimension or weigh more than 40 pounds. The exhibition will be juried by art professionals at d'Art Center and curated by d'Art Center staff.
The exhibition runs Thursday, April 11th through Thursday, May 2nd, 2019, at d'Art Center in Norfolk's NEON district. A reception will be held Thursday, April 11th from 5:30-7:30pm. Artists will be notified by email by 5pm on Friday, March 22nd, 2019. Accepted works must arrive by Thursday, April 4th, 2019. The entry fee is $15.00 for up to 3 works. Awards include 1st Place: $300.00, 2nd Place: $200.00, and 3rd Place: $100.00. A 30% commission applies to sold works (70% to artist, 30% to d'Art Center), not including awards.
Eligibility is limited to Virginia art students currently enrolled in an art program at their college or university. All 2D works must be equipped with hanging hardware. All 3D works requiring presentation other than standard pedestals must include those displays. Works requiring special installation must include clear instructions, and complicated installations must be installed by the artist. Content should be appropriate for all viewers. The d'Art Center is not responsible for damage to artworks. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Works without return labels or not picked up within one month after the exhibition ends become property of d'Art Center.
