In Gold We Trust

Ashton Gallery @ Art on 30th, a contemporary art center and gallery in San Diego, California, invites regional and national artists to submit original works of art for the 2019 "In Gold We Trust" exhibition. Artists are encouraged to submit work featuring gold or metallic paints, as well as golden colors such as mustard, yellow oxide, and yellow ochre. The color does not have to be dominant as long as it is prominent.

Accepted mediums include acrylic, oils, watercolor, drawing, photography, assemblage, collage, encaustic, mixed media, fiber art, and 3D art that fits on an 18" x 18" pedestal. The exhibit does not accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, or installations. All entries must be original works and for sale. Ashton Gallery retains 50% commission on artwork sales. All artwork must remain in the show until closing on November 15, 2019.

Three awards and two honorable mentions will be given by juror Leonardo Bravo, Director at Palm Springs Art Museum. Awards include Best in Show (featured on catalog cover), First Place (double page spread), Juror's Choice (double page spread), and Honorable Mention (double page spread). A total of $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. Selected works will be published in the Ashton Gallery Full Color Exhibition Catalog. The exhibition runs October 19 - November 15, 2019, with an opening reception on October 19 from 6pm - 8pm.

Entry fee is $35 for the first work and $5 for each additional work (maximum 6 works). Submissions must include 1-6 images and be submitted online before September 22, 2019 at 11:59 PM MST. Notification of acceptance will be made by email by September 30, 2019. All artwork must be identified on the back with artist name, title, media, dimensions, and price. D-ring hardware is required for installation.
