About This Call
IMPRESSIONS – The Art of the Print is a national juried exhibition of original printmaking art. All printmaking methods are accepted, including monotype, etchings, drypoint, lithography, woodcut, linocut, collagraph, and screenprint. The exhibition aims to present original printmaking methods and educate visitors about printmaking as an art form and the difference between printmaking versus reproduction prints. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and must be the original creation of the artist. Work previously displayed at Tubac Center of the Arts is not eligible.
Artists may submit up to five works for consideration via digital images in jpg format only. Entry fee is $35 for the first 2 entries, with $3 per additional entry image (up to 3 additional). TCA members receive discounts using code PRINT23 for the entry fee and PRINT23X for additional images. All artwork must arrive ready to hang—if framed, work must be suitably matted in white, black, or neutral colors, simply framed, and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the venue and must provide a prepaid return shipping label.
The juror is Jennifer Clarke, an accomplished printmaker specializing in mezzotint with extensive exhibition history nationally and internationally. Awards will be presented during the opening reception: Best of Show ($500), Award of Excellence ($300), Award of Merit ($200), and two Honorable Mentions ($100 each). The application deadline is January 12, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Selected artists will be notified January 20, 2023. Shipped work is due February 15-20, 2023, with hand delivery due February 20, 2023. The opening reception is February 25, 2023. The exhibition runs February 26 – April 4, 2023.
