About This Call

Impression is an exhibition featuring fine art printmaking in traditional methods including screen printing, letterpress, relief, lithography, and intaglio. The exhibition reception will be held Thursday, October 18th during the first night of Norfolk's NEON Festival in the NEON District. The exhibition runs October 18th through November 17th, 2018 at the d'Art Center's Harbor Group International Gallery in Norfolk, Virginia.

Artists may submit up to 3 original, hand-pulled works for consideration. Entry fee is $35.00. Work must not exceed 48 inches in its longest dimension, weigh no more than 50 pounds, and must be framed and hang-ready. No digital or photographic reproductions will be accepted. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original and created without the aid of an instructor or kit. Artist statements must be submitted with artwork. Submissions are due Sunday, September 16th, 2018. Notifications will be sent by email Friday, September 28th, 2018 by 5pm. Accepted works must arrive by Thursday, October 11th, 2018.

Awards: 1st Place $500.00, 2nd Place $300.00, 3rd Place $150.00. The juror is Brendan Baylor, Assistant Professor of Art (Print Media) at Old Dominion University. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery and must provide pre-paid return labels via UPS or FedEx. Commission for sold works is 60% (artist) / 40% (d'Art Center), not including awards. The d'Art Center is not responsible for damage to artworks during exhibition; artists are strongly recommended to insure their own works.
