About This Call
Art Gym Gallery invites artists to submit work to the 4th Impressed national printmaking exhibition. Launched in 2016, Impressed celebrates a cross-section of both traditional and alternative printmaking methods being used in contemporary printmaking from artists of all professional levels. This exhibition runs in conjunction with Denver's Month of Printmaking (Mo'Print), a celebration of the art of making original prints to inspire, educate and promote awareness through a variety of public events and exhibitions in Denver and the metropolitan region.
Eligible artworks must be original works utilizing a form of traditional hand printed media as their primary technique but may include digital output elements. Submissions may include monoprint, monotype, screen print, etching, engraving, drypoint, photopolymer, photogravure, collagraph, stone lithography, plate lithography, woodcut, linocut, steamroller, letterpress, and book-arts. Ineligible artworks include those composed solely of inkjet, laser prints, pigmented prints, risograph, photocopy, laser engraving, or giclée reproductions. Artists may submit up to 3 images for consideration. The non-refundable submission fee is $25. There are no size limitations on artworks. All framed art must be securely wired and use plexi-glass (no glass). Artists must be United States residents and 18+ years old. Art Gym Gallery will receive a 30% commission on all work sold.
Four cash prizes will be awarded: 1st Prize $400, 2nd Prize $200, 3rd Prize $100, 4th Prize $50. The exhibition runs March 19 – April 10, 2020 at Art Gym Gallery in Denver, Colorado. Submission deadline is February 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification emails will be sent February 20. Accepted artwork must be delivered by March 15. The opening reception is Thursday, March 19, 2020, 5-8 pm. Unsold artwork pickup is April 13. The juror is Gregory Santos, Printmaking Director at Art Gym Denver.
