About This Call
ImMigration Project II is a collaborative printmaking exhibition and installation exploring themes of migration through a unique visual mosaic. Artists are invited to create a 15" right-angle triangular print (15"x15"x21") using traditional printmaking techniques only. Individual prints will be pieced together, regardless of orientation, to create one large mosaic print that will be exhibited at the SG Gallery in Venice from October 3-30, 2019.
Participation requires submission by September 15, 2019, with an entry fee of $15.00. Prints must be submitted in Los Angeles by September 20, 2019. All prints must be created using traditional printmaking techniques—no digital or reproduction prints are accepted. Prints should be on sturdy printmaking paper (Japanese papers acceptable if not translucent) and printed to the corners with bleed. Artists are encouraged to create more than one print and should include artist signatures on the back. A personal statement about your migration theme is required with entry. Imagery may be abstract but should contain some reference to the migration theme. All participating artists will be identified and listed as participants on an online resource dedicated to the ongoing collaborative project. The project is sponsored by the Los Angeles Printmaking Society and will be exhibited in printmaking conferences and galleries. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work against potential damage or loss during handling and shipping.
