About This Call
ACLU of Colorado's Social Justice in the Arts Initiative invites artists to share their stories through art. This exhibition focuses on the theme of Immigration and seeks voices from Colorado-based artists who are themselves new to the United States or are first generation immigrants, though all voices on the subject of immigration are welcome.
The exhibition will be held in a private office space from March 6, 2023 to May 27, 2023. Artists selected for the show will receive 100% of sales from their work plus a $100 artist stipend. Only 2D contemporary artworks created within the last five years are accepted. Artists should consider the following in their work: What is life like for you in the United States? What have you gained and what have you lost by being in the United States? What has your journey been like to get to the United States and navigating systems like housing, employment, and schooling? What is your "American Dream"?
Eligibility: Artist must reside in Colorado. All works must be original, created by the submitting artist, and for sale. Accepted disciplines include painting, drawing, weaving, collage, photography, mixed media, and digital art. Image submissions must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, and in sRGB color profile. Jury dates: February 5-10, 2023.
