About This Call
IMAGES 2019 is an annual photography exhibition presented by the Marin Society of Artists (MSA), a non-profit artist organization dedicated since 1927 to promoting the arts and providing arts opportunities. The exhibition is open to all artists residing in the United States, age 18 and over. All styles of photography, all subjects, and all types of photographic manipulation are invited.
The juror is Jack Fulton, an influential photographer and teacher whose work is held in the permanent collections of major museums including the San Francisco Museum of Art (SFMOMA), Los Angeles County Museum (LACMA), Chicago Art Institute, and the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris. He was a photography professor and chair of the photography department at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI).
Entry fees are $35 for 3 entries ($30 for MSA members), with $7 for each additional entry up to a maximum of 20 images. Images must be JPG or JPEG format, under 5MP with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Prizes include First Prize: $500, Second Prize: $200, Third Prize: $100, and three non-monetary Honorable Mention awards. Accepted artwork confirmations will be posted March 15. The exhibition opens April 4 and closes April 27, 2019, with a reception on Friday, April 12 from 5-8pm. The venue is located at 1515 Third Street, San Rafael, CA. Artwork must not exceed 60" high and 60" wide including frame, with a maximum weight of 25 pounds. All artwork must be for sale. MSA retains a 40% commission on sales (30% for members).
