Images 2008

Images 2008 is a juried mid-Atlantic regional exhibition for fine art and fine craft, now in its twentieth year and sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. The exhibition is open to artists residing in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and the District of Columbia. Artists may submit slides of original work produced within the last three years. The exhibition will display drawings, paintings, mixed media, photography, hand-pulled prints, watercolors, fiber, ceramic, paper, and sculpture in any medium, with sculpture limited to 150 pounds maximum. Installations that will result in damage to gallery walls, ceilings, or other property are not permitted.

The entry fee is $30 non-refundable. A maximum of three images may be entered, one per artwork, except for fiber and sculpture artists who may submit a second image such as a detail shot or side view. The work will be judged on the basis of digital images. The deadline for applications is March 7, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified on April 7, 2008. Accepted work must arrive between May 7-10, 2008. The exhibition runs June 11 - July 13, 2008 at the Robeson Gallery in the HUB-Robeson Center on the University Park campus of Pennsylvania State University.

A minimum of $3,000 will be awarded without regard to medium, including one Best of Show Award and five Merit awards. The Revington Arthur Foundation sponsors an award for Excellence in Painting and a Viewer's Choice Award. A catalog will be published containing representative images and a juror's statement. The Robeson Gallery does not charge a sales commission. Work not picked up by July 31, 2008 will be returned on or about July 25, 2008, and artists leaving work after July 31 will be charged a daily storage fee.
