Images 2007

The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, founded in 1966 by Penn State University's College of Arts and Architecture and the State College Chamber of Commerce, invites artists to submit work for Images 2007. The exhibition will be held in the Robeson Gallery in the HUB-Robeson Center on the University Park campus of Penn State University. The gallery is 3,100 square feet and opened in 2000.

Images 2007 is open to artists residing in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and the District of Columbia. The call accepts drawings, paintings, mixed media, photography, hand-pulled prints, watercolors, fiber, ceramic, paper, and sculpture in any medium. Sculpture must be no heavier than 150 pounds. Digital format slides of original work produced within the last three years may be submitted. Artists may apply in up to three categories. The entry fee is $25.00 for up to three works of art, regardless of the number of categories. Installations that will result in damage to gallery walls, ceilings or other property are not permitted.

Heather Pesanti, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, will serve as juror. A minimum of $3,000 will be awarded, including one Best of Show Award and five Merit awards. The Revington Arthur Foundation sponsors an award for Excellence in Painting and the Viewer's Choice Award. A catalog of the exhibition will be published containing representative images and a juror's statement. The Robeson Gallery does not charge a sales commission. The entry deadline is March 2, 2007. Accepted entries must arrive between April 25–28, 2007, with hand deliveries accepted May 3–5 from noon to 4:00 p.m. The exhibition runs June 13–July 15, 2007. Work will be available for pickup July 19–21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be returned on or about July 28, 2007.
