Icebreaker 6: National Juried Exhibition

Icebreaker 6 is the sixth annual juried exhibition sponsored by Ice Cube Gallery, a contemporary artist-run gallery located in the River North Arts District of Denver. The exhibit has an open theme and artists of every medium are encouraged to enter. The juror is Lauren Wright, Curator and Artistic Director for the Biennial of the Americas, former curator at Turner Contemporary in Margate, UK, who has also developed independent curatorial projects for Tate Modern and served as Assistant Director for Furtherfield.org, a media arts organization focused on technology and social change.

The entry fee is $35.00 and entitles each artist to enter up to 4 images. Entries must be received by November 1, 2014. Accepted entries will be notified via email on November 18. Artwork must be ready to hang or display. Installation or works of multiple pieces must be accompanied by a detailed diagram. Artists submitting time-based media must be able to provide their own equipment. Maximum weight is 50 lbs. The juror has the right to reject any work that does not meet quality standards for the exhibit or is not identical to the work juried from digital images.

Artwork can be received December 20 & 27, 12-5pm, and January 2-3, 12-5pm. The exhibition runs January 8-31, 2015, with an opening reception on January 9, 6-9pm. Artwork pick-up is January 31, 5-7pm and February 1, 9am-12pm. All artworks must remain on display during the entire show period. Ice Cube Gallery retains a 25% commission on works sold during the exhibition. Artist is responsible for shipping costs, and a return shipping label must be included with work.
