I. We. They. Celebrations of Gender.

Arts Benicia, a non-profit art center in Benicia, CA, invites artists to submit works for I. We. They. Celebrations of Gender, a juried exhibition of artworks expressing and celebrating ideas of gender as a central theme. Expressions of gender diversity and identity through art and storytelling create an environment where gender diversity becomes relatable, natural, and beautiful. The exhibition runs June 1 – July 21, 2024, with juror Thea Quiray Tagle, PhD, an Associate Curator of the Brown Arts Institute and Bell Gallery at Brown University.

All media accepted, including 2D and 3D work, audio and video files. 2D work may not exceed 40" in width or 72" in height, including the frame. 3D work may not exceed a 40" x 40" footprint. There is a 35-pound weight limit for any hanging work; floor weight for 3D work must not exceed 300 lbs. Artists may submit up to 6 artworks with one application. Entry fee is $35 for non-members ($25 for current Arts Benicia members) for one artwork; an additional $5 fee is required for each additional entry, up to a maximum of 6. Entry fees are not refundable. Deadline for entries is March 21, 2024 at 10:59 pm Pacific Time. Jurying occurs March 22-28, with notification to artists by April 2.

Shipped artwork must be received by May 10; hand-delivered work by May 14, 1-4 pm. Opening reception is Saturday, June 1, 4-6 pm. In-person artwork pick-up is July 23, 1-4 pm; shipped artwork returns July 23. Artwork must be available and for sale. Upon sale, artists receive 60% of the sale price; Arts Benicia receives 40% and bears all sales transaction fees. Artworks are insured while at the gallery.
