About This Call
In honor of the book "I See France" written by Meg McNamara (aka CeCe DeLuc), the Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites artists worldwide to submit work that depicts memories of France. From Paris to Normandy to Mont Saint-Michel, France has a story to tell. What is France through your perspective? This exhibit will be hung in the Board Room of the Main Building. All media will be considered except film.
The show runs from January 29 to February 23, 2020. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 20 total entries. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Artists must submit only work that will be available at the time of the exhibit and will remain for its entirety. If work does not fully reflect what is represented in the JPEG, the Cultural Center reserves the right to eliminate it from the exhibition.
Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging, with no loose glass over mats. Gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. Poorly presented work will not be hung. Work may not exceed 320 square inches. Shipping and return shipping are the responsibility of the artist. Artwork must arrive by Monday, January 27, 2020, and no sooner than Monday, January 20, 2020. Notification of acceptance will be sent by Friday, January 17, 2020. A reception will be held on Friday, January 31 from 5-7pm. The award for Best in Show is $100. All works should be for sale; members of the Cultural Center are charged a 30% commission on sales, non-members a 40% commission.
