Human-Made (a creative-centric show)

Human-Made is a juried exhibition and sales opportunity featuring artists, makers, and designer-entrepreneurs who create original artwork and transform that artwork into products, editions, or small-batch goods while running (or building) a creative business around their own designs. The show seeks work from letterers who turn hand-drawn typography into cards, posters, stickers, or journals; potters who perfect a form and create multiples; illustrators or painters whose characters and worlds become prints, zines, apparel, or home goods; and textile artists whose patterns live on fabric, bags, or wearable pieces. Each selected creative will exhibit one original work in the Not Shockboxx gallery and will have at least one way for visitors to purchase their work or products.

Participating artists can choose from several sales options: providing an online shop link to be shared with visitors and featured on the digital exhibition page; placing a small selection of products at The Studio Hermosa for daytime shopping; or setting up a pop-up display inside Not Shockboxx during the show run. All art accepted into the exhibit will have a 50% commission fee, while products sold through Not Shockboxx or The Studio Hermosa include a 10% commission fee. Sales made directly through artists' own online shops are commission-free.

The exhibition runs January 10-31, 2026, with an opening reception on January 10 from 3-5pm. Gallery hours are daily 10am-5pm. Artists must submit up to 10 pieces with title, medium, dimensions, year completed, high-resolution images, and a 100-200 word artist statement explaining how the work fits the theme. Entry fee is $25 plus $5 for each additional image. All 2D, 3D, mixed media, photography, and digital works are accepted, with a size limit of 10ft x 10ft. Artists will be notified by December 31, 2025, with artwork due at the gallery by January 6, 2026.
