About This Call

SFVACC (Southern California Open Regional Exhibitions) invites artists and photographers worldwide to participate in a virtual art exhibit reflecting the human figure. From realistic to abstract, the human body has been a source of art since the beginning of time. Whether in movement or at rest, in color or black and white, the human form beckons artists' desire to visualize who we are. All artwork will be juried using digital images (.JPGs).

Eligibility is open to all artists and photographers worldwide. Submissions are limited to six original artworks per artist in the following media: drawing, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, painting, digital art, and sculpture. Work must have been created within the last three years. Entries must be original and of the artist's own execution. Artwork created and completed under the direct supervision of an instructor is not eligible. Once artwork is submitted, it may not be substituted or withdrawn. All juried artwork must remain online until the end of the exhibit. Do not submit works that have been shown at any previous SFVACC/SCORE exhibit or that violate copyright laws.

Entry fee is $35 for one artwork, with up to five additional entries at $5 each. Digital images must be submitted as high resolution (1-5MB) .JPEG or .JPG files either cropped to remove background or on a black background without a mat. Image quality is critical; poor photography and presentation may affect acceptance. The exhibit opens September 1, 2022 and closes September 30, 2022. A virtual artists' reception is scheduled for September 3, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm PST. Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), and up to four Honorable Mentions. Juror is Mahara T. Sinclaire, a Los Angeles-based figurative painter and Assistant Professor of Life Drawing at Pasadena City College. Acceptance notifications will be sent by email August 14-16, 2022, with award winners notified August 16-17, 2022.
