About This Call
Hudson Valley MOCA's 1st Annual Juried Exhibition is open to national artists 18 years or older with current Hudson Valley MOCA membership. Original works in all media executed during the past two years and never previously exhibited at Hudson Valley MOCA are eligible. Artists may submit up to four images of artwork. The entry fee is $10 per submitted image, non-refundable. Online submissions via CAFE are due June 30, 2019. Notification to artists will be sent via email on July 12, 2019.
The exhibition will be juried by Legacy Russell, Associate Curator of Exhibitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem. Prizes include First Prize $500, Second Prize $250, Third Prize $100, and Visitors' Choice Upgraded Membership to Benefactor level. The opening reception is Saturday, August 10, 2019, with exhibition dates August 10 - September 8, 2019.
Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed; work cannot exceed 84 inches in any dimension or 75 pounds. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 84 inches in any dimension or 75 pounds and should be accompanied by a pedestal or be ready for freestanding display. Installation work must include detailed installation instructions with reference photos. Artists must provide equipment for video or sound work. Hudson Valley MOCA prohibits glitter, wet paint, sharp objects, open flames, balloons, sprays, dangerous chemicals, weapons, pressurized containers, plants, animals, hazardous materials, or decaying materials. Shipped artwork must arrive by July 26, 2019. Hand deliveries are accepted July 16, July 23, or by appointment. Return postage must be included with shipped work by September 8, 2019. Hudson Valley MOCA does not deduct commission on artwork sales and will not serve as a third party for sales.
