Houston Center for Photography 31st Annual Juried Membership Exhibition

The Houston Center for Photography invites members to submit work for its 31st Annual Juried Membership Exhibition. The exhibition will be juried by Lisa Sutcliffe, a curator with extensive experience at SFMoMA and other major institutions. Three juror commendations will receive Beth Block Juried Membership Honoraria of $500, supported by The Beth Block Foundation.

All entrants must be or become HCP members at the time of submission. The entry fee is $35, which includes submission of up to 10 images or videos. Membership starts at $35. HCP Artist/Photographer level members ($250 or above) may waive the entry fee for one call for entry per year by contacting [email protected]. Submissions must include up to 10 images or videos, an artist statement, and a resume or bio. The competition is open to all artists working in photographic and lens-based work. Acceptable work must be original, still in development within the last two years, and the body of work submitted as a whole must not have been exhibited in a previous HCP Exhibition.

Applications are submitted through callforentry.org. Applicants will be notified by May 24, 2013. The exhibition runs from July 12 to August 23, 2013, with an opening reception on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. Exhibiting artists are responsible for round-trip shipping of their work. Work must be delivered ready-to-hang with any necessary pedestals or hardware. Black or white wood frames and bright white matting are required if applicable.
