Houston Center for Photography: 2015 Fellowship Exhibition

The Houston Center for Photography is accepting entries for its 2015 Fellowship Exhibition, juried by Paul Kopeikin, Owner of Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles. Two fellowship recipients will each receive $3,000 and a solo exhibition at HCP in summer 2015. One Houston-based artist (residing within 100 miles of Houston, including Beaumont, Galveston, and College Station) will receive the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship. Another artist from anywhere in the world outside the Houston area will receive the HCP Fellowship.

The competition is open to all artists working in photographic and lens-based work. Submissions must be original work with the body of work still in development within the last two years, and the submitted body of work as a whole must not have been exhibited in a previous HCP Exhibition. Entrants may submit up to 10 images or videos, an artist statement, and a resume/bio. Acceptance will be based on the body of work rather than individual images. The entry fee is $35 per submission, and artists may submit more than one entry. All entrants must be or become HCP members at the time of submission. Membership starts at $35.

Submission deadline is October 31, 2014 at midnight. Applicants will be notified by December 12, 2014. The exhibition runs May 1 - July 5, 2015, with an opening reception on Friday, May 1, 2015, 6-8 p.m. Exhibiting artists are responsible for round-trip shipping of their work. Work must be delivered ready-to-hang with any necessary pedestals or hardware. Black or white wood frames and bright white matting are required if applicable.
