Hotter 'N Hell 2024 National Art Exhibition

The Hotter 'N Hell National Art Exhibition is a juried show featuring all art forms that use fire and heat as part of the creative process, such as ceramics, glass-blowing, welded sculpture, poured metals, wood-burning, metalsmithing, and burned textiles. Northwestern State University of Louisiana invites professional and student artists across the United States to submit their pyrotechnical works of art.

Eligibility is open to all artists in all media. All work submitted must use fire and/or heat in its production and must be ready for display. Work that requires special installation is the responsibility of the artist. No work can exceed eight feet in any dimension. The entry fee is $35 for one to three works, with one detail image per piece included at no additional cost. Participants are responsible for shipping or delivering works; specifications for delivery will be included in acceptance letters.

Important dates: Entry deadline is September 21, 2024. Acceptance notifications will be sent by September 30, 2024. The final day to deliver work is October 15, 2024. The show opens October 31, 2024, with related pyrotechnical events. Work pickup deadline is January 10, 2025. Prizes include Best in Show ($500), First Place ($350), and Second Place ($200). The juror is David Chatt.
