HotGlass Exhibition and Gala Auction

The Arts Commission is seeking artworks in glass for HotGlass, its 13th biannual gallery exhibition and gala auction. This event gathers original creations of leading glass artists from around Toledo and the world for a stunning exhibition, culminating in a special Gala Auction evening event where all works are sold to help raise funds to support the programs of The Arts Commission.

Artists who work in all glass techniques (hot, warm, cold, flame/lampworked, etc.) are encouraged to submit. The acquisitions committee is interested in showcasing a survey of work that investigates a wide range of artistic practices and includes emerging, mid-career and established artists. Artists may submit up to 3 works for consideration. The exhibition will be juried to 75 artworks. Artists will be notified no later than July 15th. Selected artists will receive 2 complimentary tickets for the Hot Glass Gala Auction on Thursday, October 20, 2016.

In keeping with The Arts Commission's mission to support artists, those who participate are offered the option to make a full donation or receive the wholesale value of their work. Selected artists assume the responsibility and cost of shipping artwork to The Arts Commission for the exhibition. The Arts Commission will assume the responsibility and cost of shipping unsold artworks back to the artist. HotGlass 2016 will be held concurrently with events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Toledo Museum of Art's Glass Pavilion, running September 15 - October 20, 2016.
