Hot Glass Gallery Exhibition and Gala Auction

The Arts Commission will host its 14th Hot Glass Gallery Exhibition and Gala Auction on November 8, 2019 in downtown Toledo, Ohio. As the birthplace of the studio glass movement, Toledo's heritage as the Glass City is honored with an exhibition open to all glassworking techniques (hot, warm, cold, flame/lampworked, etc.). The exhibition will be held in a downtown pop-up gallery at 300 Madison Avenue, with an opening reception on October 3rd and the concluding Gala Evening on November 8.

Artists working in all glass techniques are invited to submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. This is a juried exhibition seeking a survey of work covering a wide range of artistic practices, including emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Due to the temporary exhibition space, works that require a wall to hang cannot be included. Participating artists may choose to consign their work for sale or make a full donation of the proceeds from the sale to The Arts Commission. Since its inception in the 1990s, Hot Glass has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to individual glass artists through the sale of works at this event.

The deadline for submissions is June 23, 2019. Artists will be notified no later than July 30. Selected artists will receive an exhibition agreement and shipping instructions at that time. Artworks not purchased at the event will be returned to the artist. Submit 1-9 images of your work.
