Hot Fresh Glazed (Juried by Nawal Motawi)

The Ann Arbor Art Center invites ceramic artists to submit their work to Hot Fresh Glazed, an exhibition of functional pottery. All functional designs are welcome, including individual objects (cups, mugs, plates, bowls, etc.) or place-settings. Submissions will be juried in two categories: individual object or place-setting. Artists may submit up to three images per $35 entry fee. Images representing a full place-setting should show all pieces of the set in a single image; any images of single pieces will be considered individual objects.

Awards include Best in Show: $500, with two additional "Best of" awards of $150 each. This is a "cash-and-carry" exhibition designed with both art collectors and holiday shoppers in mind. Accepted artists may have the option to include multiples at the time of delivery so objects in the exhibit can be replaced as they sell. The Art Center retains a 50% commission on all sold works.

Eligibility is open to any artist 18 years or older. Works must be original within the previous year and must not have been previously shown in any competition at the Ann Arbor Art Center. Artwork delivery is required no later than Monday, November 6. The exhibition runs November 10 – December 3, 2017, with an opening reception and awards on Friday, November 10, 6-9pm. Artists will be notified of selections via email by Monday, October 30, 2017. All submissions must be made in digital format through CaFÉ at CallForEntry.org.
