Hot Buttons 2!

Hot Buttons 2! is an interactive exhibition at Loading Dock Gallery seeking fifty artists to create wearable and collectable button designs. The show invites artists to express what makes them angry through original button designs. The public opening event is Thursday, August 2, 6–8pm, where bags of 6 randomly selected buttons will be available for purchase at $5 per bag. Attendees can trade, barter, and buy buttons to collect their favorites. Hot Buttons will be available for purchase throughout August, and refreshments will be served with beer and food trucks on premises.

Eligibility is open to artists over 18 years of age. Entry fee is $25 for three entries and $20 for each additional set of three entries, limited to four sets of 3 entries per artist. Submissions must be original designs not exceeding 4" x 4" in size and suitable for scanning. Designs will be scaled down to 1" so detail may be lost. Entries must include a brief explanatory statement detailing the artist's reason for the button design. Artwork should be sent as a JPEG attachment to [email protected] by July 15, including artist name, contact email, title, city, and state. Accepted artists will be notified by email by July 8, 2018, and each accepted artist will receive a set of their Hot Buttons.

Loading Dock Gallery requires 40% commission for non-members on sales. Artists will receive payment within 15 days after the close of the show. The gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and to use artist names, likenesses, and artwork in publicity materials. By entering, artists agree to these terms.
