About This Call
The Curtis Center for the Arts is hosting "Horse Power," an exhibition celebrating the art of the horse. The show honors the horse culture that plays an important role in the Greenwood Village community and aims to express the beauty of these magnificent creatures in many different styles and mediums. Approximately 50-60 pieces will be accepted for the exhibit.
Artists may submit up to two individual works of art with a maximum of six images total. Only one piece of work per artist will be accepted into the exhibit. Each piece should capture the elements, essence and beauty of the horse. Artwork must be of original design and personal execution, completed within the last two years and not previously shown at the Curtis Center for the Arts. Original equine fine art in any media is accepted, including photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The maximum size for two-dimensional work is 48" x 48" (including frame) and for three-dimensional work is 50 lbs. Video and giclée prints will not be accepted. Works must be ready for installation upon arrival at the Center.
Entry fee is $25.00. A retail price must accompany all entries. The Curtis Center for the Arts will take a 30% commission on all sold art. Artists will be required to submit a W-9 to receive payment from sold works, which will occur within 30 days of the sale. Exhibition dates are January 12 - February 23, 2019. Reception is Saturday, January 12, 2019, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Artists will be notified by December 3, 2018. Work must be received by December 22, 2018. Hand-delivered entries are accepted December 19-22, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Shipped pieces must arrive by December 22 but should not arrive prior to December 17. Artwork must be picked up between February 25-27, 2019. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to the Center; the Center will pay up to $100 for return shipping.
