Hopkins ArtStreet 24-25

Hopkins ArtStreet is a juried public art display on historic Main Street in Hopkins, MN, 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Artists working in all outdoor-tolerant media are invited to apply. Accepted artwork is displayed for approximately one year (May to May).

The goal of the ArtStreet project is to present permanent and rotating original public art that celebrates Hopkins' vital and diverse community in an accessible setting. This exhibition is open to established and emerging artists. Each artist may submit up to 5 entries (1 artwork per entry, 3 images per entry). Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend to offset transportation and travel/hotel expenses. Artists must be present at installation.

Artworks must be original, durable enough to withstand outdoor display for one year with minimal maintenance, at least 18" tall, pose no hazard to patrons, and be appropriate for a family audience. Works must be insured by the artist and ready for installation. Larger works (greater than 4' in one dimension) and interactive, reflective, or kinetic artworks are encouraged. Sites include concrete slabs, pedestals, and a brick wall. Awards include a Judges' Award ($1,000), People's Choice Award ($300), and Children's Choice Award ($300). All pieces will be actively marketed for sale, with ArtStreet retaining a 30% commission on sold pieces. Jury results will be notified by March 12, 2024. Accepted works will be installed in May 2024.
