Hopkins ArtStreet 23-24

Hopkins ArtStreet is a juried public art display centered on historic Main Street in Hopkins, MN, approximately 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Artists working in all outdoor-tolerant media are invited to apply. Accepted artwork is displayed for approximately one year (May to May).

The goal of the ArtStreet project is to build a collection of permanent and rotating works that celebrate the diverse community and vitality of Hopkins through showcasing original artworks in an accessible setting. This exhibition is open to established and emerging artists. Each artist may submit up to five entries, with each entry consisting of one artwork represented by three images. Entry fees are $25 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend to offset transportation and travel/hotel expenses, and artists must be present at installation.

Artworks must be original works by the submitting artist, durable enough to withstand outdoor display for one year with minimal maintenance, at least 18" tall, pose no hazard to patrons, and be appropriate for a family audience. Works must be insured by the artist and ready for installation. Larger works (greater than 4' in one dimension) and interactive, reflective, or kinetic artworks are encouraged. Display sites include concrete slabs, pedestals, and a brick wall. Awards include a Judges' Award ($1,000), People's Choice Award ($300), and Children's Choice Award ($300). All pieces will be actively marketed for sale, with ArtStreet retaining a 30% commission on sold pieces. Jury results will be announced by March 13, 2023, with installation on May 15, 2023.
