About This Call

"Hope is a waking dream" is a multi-part exhibition curated by the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities and presented in partnership with the Wilkinson Public Library in Telluride. This exhibition invites artists to explore the transformative yet fleeting nature of hope, and the power it holds to propel us forward. The concept centers on hope as both a source of inspiration and a guiding force in uncertain times - a dream you carry that awakens you to the possibility held within each day.

Part 2 takes place in the Magazine Room at Wilkinson Public Library and runs from July to September 2025. This is a solo exhibition opportunity accepting 2D visual art including paintings, photographs, and mixed media modalities on canvas. Artists may submit up to 3 individual pieces per application, but only one piece will be exhibited per selected artist. All artwork must be ready for display (framed and ready to hang) and must fit within specific wall parameters ranging from 90"w x 24"h to 96"w x 48"h.

Eligibility is limited to artists who maintain residence in Telluride, Mountain Village, or the Telluride Region (bounded by Montrose, Ouray, Rico, and Norwood). The application fee is $10, and all applications undergo blind review by a rotating panel of jurors. Artists are responsible for all shipping, handling, and delivery costs. Applications are due June 22, 2025, with artists announced June 24, 2025, and art delivery required between June 25-30, 2025.
