About This Call
"Hope is a Waking Dream" is a multi-part exhibition curated by the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities in partnership with the Wilkinson Public Library in Telluride. The exhibition invites artists to explore the transformative yet fleeting nature of hope and the power it holds to propel us forward. Part 1 will be displayed in the Public Stairwell and run from June to November 2025, with the exhibition launch on June 5, 2025.
Eligible artists must live and/or work in the Telluride region (defined as: North—Montrose, East—Ouray, South—Rico, West—Norwood). There are no age limitations. The application deadline is May 30, 2025 at 5:00 PM MST, with an entry fee of $20. Artists must submit an artist statement and bio (PDF preferred), proof of residency, and work samples (limit 3 separate pieces per application; only one piece will be exhibited). Artwork must not exceed 30"w x 36"h. All artwork must be framed and ready to hang upon delivery. Artists must indicate whether work is "Available for Purchase" or "Display ONLY" and provide pricing if applicable. Artists assume full responsibility for shipping and delivery costs.
Applications will be subject to blind review by designated juror panels, with all personal details and identity indicators removed prior to review. Selection criteria include quality and artistic merit, creativity, and innovation demonstrated in the narrative and work samples. Artists will be notified of selection status by May 27, 2025, with art delivery due June 3, 2025. Artists are welcome to apply for all parts of the exhibition (1-4). For questions, contact [email protected] or 970-728-3930.
