About This Call
Honolulu Printmakers invites all print artists residing in the state of Hawaii to participate in the 91st Annual Exhibition by submitting up to 5 entries for jurying. This exhibition presents a carefully juried selection of the best print work from artists around the state working in traditional printmaking media as well as contemporary forms and hybrids. Jeffrey Dell, Professor of Art at Texas State University, San Marcos, will serve as juror. The exhibition runs from January 13 - February 15, 2019, at the gallery of the Art Department of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
The exhibition seeks print works in all printmaking media, including lithographs, screenprints, relief prints, intaglio, monoprints, letterpress, artists books, digital prints and print-based installations. Work must have been created within the last three years and may not have been previously shown in a juried exhibition on Oahu. Accepted artists will be notified on or before December 9, 2018. Entry fees are $40 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, up to 5 maximum. Discounted entry fees are available for current members of Honolulu Printmakers (membership current through 12/1/2018) at $25 for the first entry, and for current university students with valid ID at $10 for the first entry. Cash and merchandise awards will be selected and presented by the juror. Sales of work are subject to a 40% exhibition fee. Accepted prints must be delivered framed and presented with wire or other necessary hardware for hanging. Oahu-based artists should deliver work on Sunday, January 6, 2019, between 11 am – 4 pm to the Department of Art, University of Hawaii at Manoa, 2535 McCarthy Mall, Honolulu, Hawaii 96822. Neighbor island artists must ship accepted work to Honolulu Printmakers, 1111 Victoria Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814, by Monday, December 31, 2018.
