Honey, I Shrunk the Art

Honey, I Shrunk the Art is an open call art exhibition for small works from local artists. Work must measure no larger than 8" x 10" (framed size no larger than 9" x 11" outside of frame). Three-dimensional work will also be accepted, no larger than 10" in any direction. All original media is acceptable, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabric work, glass work, jewelry, and digital media. All entries compliant with exhibition specifications will be accepted until space is filled.

The exhibition will hang for 4 weeks in The Darcy Gallery (second floor of the historic Masonic building at 162 Main Street, Northport, NY) from May 1-30, 2021. An open house opening reception will be held on May 8th during gallery hours. Note: there is no handicapped access to this venue, which is located on the second floor.

Eligibility is open to 2D and 3D works by local artists created in 2020/2021. Entries must be original artwork with no reproductions (except photography). All art must be for sale; the gallery takes a 35% commission on sold pieces. Accepted work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang or display. Jewelry pieces must be framed. Each piece must include artist name, title, date, and full description of materials used. Work must be delivered in person April 28-30, 2021 during gallery hours (shipped artwork cannot be accepted). Artists must pick up work in person between June 1-4, 2021. A storage fee of $5 per day will be charged for pieces left beyond June 6, 2021. Artists are responsible for insuring their own works.

Entry fee is $10.00 for one piece; additional pieces may be submitted for $5.00 each (up to 5 additional pieces). Submit 1-6 images of your work. Contact: [email protected]
