About This Call

The Taubman Museum of Art's triennial invites artists working in all media to submit work for consideration. Installation and video proposals are encouraged. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older currently residing in Virginia. All artwork must be original and completed within the last 3 years (2017-2019). Work previously exhibited at the Taubman Museum of Art is not eligible. Artists may submit up to three entries.

Entry fee is $40 ($30 for museum members). Work samples may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files, with a minimum of 1 total sample required. Digital image files must be submitted in JPG format through the online submission portal. The submission deadline is December 13, 2019 at 11:59 PM MST. Artists will be notified of selections on February 5, 2020.

Accepted artwork must arrive by April 3, 2020. The exhibition runs from May 1 to September 20, 2020. Awards include: First Place—Solo exhibition in the David R. & Susan S. Goode Regional Gallery; Second Place—$700; Third Place—$500. A guest juror will present awards and give a talk on May 1, 2020. All accepted artwork must remain on exhibit for the entire duration. 2D artwork must arrive ready to hang. 3D artists are responsible for delivery, unpacking, repacking, and removal of their work. Video artists must provide proper display and viewing instructions. All shipped artwork must include prepaid return shipping labels.
