HOME v.2: Homeland

The Decatur Arts Alliance and the Decatur Land Trust are partnering with the Decatur Library to present the second edition of HOME, a juried multimedia art exhibition celebrating the multifaceted meaning of "Home." The theme for 2026 is "HOMELAND." Artists of all mediums are invited to explore "homeland" as a geographical point of origin and a state of being. Works should express cultural and ethnic elements, and elucidate the view of "home" from the immigrant to the expatriate, the displaced to the indigenous. The exhibition will be installed in the Fourth Floor Gallery of the Decatur Library, part of the DeKalb County Public Library, and will run May 29 - July 18, 2026, with an opening reception on Friday, May 29 from 6:30-9pm.

Applications are accepted February 16 - March 29, 2026. Entry fee is $20.00. Artists may submit up to 3 applications. Work samples may include 1-3 images and up to 1 video (4 samples maximum total). Eligibility is national.

Awards include: Best of Show ($1,000), Gold Award ($700), Silver Award ($500), and Student Award ($500). Sales are encouraged, with the Decatur Arts Alliance collecting a 25% commission on all artwork sold. The 7% Georgia sales tax will be added at the point of sale. Occasionally, the City of Decatur and other local institutions select artwork to be purchased as part of their collections.
