Holiday Small Works

The Contemporary at Northern Waters Resort seeks to display and sell works of contemporary art of any style with the primary focus being on sales of the selected artist's work during the holidays. Works do not have to express a specific holiday or theme. The art should be unique, attractive, popular, and priced so that visitors would consider purchasing them as gifts.

Accepted media include acrylic, oil, assemblage, charcoal, color pencil, collage, drawings, encaustic, graphite, illustration, mixed media, painting, printmaking, photography (original and signed), and watercolor. Works must be no larger than 10 inches (not including frame). Sculpture, jewelry, digital art, numbered reproduction prints, and video/performance art are not accepted. Submit images and details for no more than 4 works. Only original work completed within the last 2 years by artists 18 years or older residing in the United States is eligible. All local, regional, and national artists, professional and amateur, will be considered for this juried show.

Entry fee is $35 for the first work and $10 for each additional work. Awards include Best in Show ($500 cash, $500 in Free Play, weekend stay in Dancing Eagles suite, and Certificate of Commendation), Chairman's Choice ($250 cash, $250 in Free Play, weekend stay, and Certificate), 2nd Place ($250 cash, $250 in Free Play, weekend stay, and Certificate), 3rd Place ($150 cash, $100 in Free Play, weekend stay, and Certificate), and three Honorable Mentions ($100 in Free Play, weekend stay in premium room, and Certificate). All accepted work is eligible for sale with The Contemporary taking a 35% commission. Maximum price per work is $200. Accepted works must be received by December 14th, 2021 at 4:00 pm CST.
