About This Call
The Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) presents the 15th Annual Holiday Show and Gift Shop, running November 18 through December 26, 2017, at 1318 County Road 65 in Evergreen. The opening reception is November 17, 4:00–7:00 pm. CAE features unique, handmade gift and holiday items from local and regional artists in a mixed retail display. During the show, CAE will be open Monday–Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with extended hours to 7:00 pm on Wednesdays.
CAE seeks handmade items in all media suitable for holiday shopping, including ceramics, digital art, edibles, fiber, glass, holiday-themed items, jewelry, metal, mixed-media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, and wood. Artists must reside in Colorado. All work must be original and handmade by the artist; commercially manufactured components, commercial patterns, and molds will not be accepted. Accepted work must be exhibit-ready, with 2D artwork requiring wire for hanging. The entry fee is $25 (mail-in entries are $35). Submit 4–10 JPG/JPEG images (3 MB maximum) through www.callforentry.org. Online entry deadline is October 3, 2017; mail-in deadline is September 29, 2017. Notifications will be sent by email on October 11, 2017.
Artwork delivery is November 8–10, 2017, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm by appointment only. Artists receive a 50% commission on all sales, or 60% if they complete 8 hours of volunteering during the show. All artwork on the premises is covered by CAE's insurance policy. Commission checks will be mailed January 31, 2018. All proceeds benefit local artists and CAE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
